The City of Oregon’s annual leaf collection is tentatively scheduled for mid – November. The actual schedule will be placed in the Metro Press in late October. Residents should not place any leaves at the curb until leaf collection has begun. Also, leaves should not be placed in the road or in storm gutters to prevent storm drains from plugging. The leaf collection will be limited to two (2) rounds (one main pick up and one clean up). The City is encouraging residents with minimal quantities to bag their leaves and place them alongside their trash on the regular refuse collection day, as yard waste is included in the current refuse contract. The bags should be 40lbs. or less. This will allow residents the ability of having their leaves removed on a weekly basis and allow crews to concentrate in the areas that produce large volumes of leaves.
